A quiet motor, hidden in the headrail.
A small motor sits inside the roller tube or headrail, exactly where you'd expect the mechanism to be. It's built into the blind, so there's nothing bulky bolted on afterwards.
Send a command from the app, ask a voice assistant, or press the remote, and the motor turns the tube to raise, lower or tilt the blind. Set a schedule and it'll do the same thing automatically, every day, without you touching anything.

A simple 1, 5 or 15-channel remote, no app or Wi-Fi required. It's the fallback that always works, and plenty of customers use it as their main way of controlling the blind.
Smartphone app
Set individual blinds, group multiple blinds by room, and build schedules that adjust automatically through the day. Works from anywhere with a signal, not just at home.
Voice and smart home
Pair with Amazon Alexa, Google Home or Apple Home and control blinds by voice, or bundle them into scenes alongside your lights and heating.

Do smart blinds need Wi-Fi to work?
No, not for basic operation. The remote works over its own radio signal with no internet connection needed. Wi-Fi (and usually a small hub) is only required for app control, voice assistants and scheduling.
How long does the battery last?
It depends on how often the blind is used, but most rechargeable battery motors go three to six months between charges on a typical daily-use blind. Charging takes a few hours via USB and doesn't require removing the blind.
Can existing blinds be retrofitted with a motor?
Sometimes, but not always cleanly. In most cases we recommend building the motor into a new blind from the start, since retrofit kits vary in fit and finish. We'll assess your existing blinds honestly at survey rather than push an upgrade that won't sit well.
Which smart home systems are they compatible with?
Our motors work with Amazon Alexa, Google Home and Apple Home. Compatibility depends on the specific motor and hub combination, so we confirm this against your existing setup before you order.
What happens if the battery dies or the power goes out?
The handheld remote still operates the blind locally, since it doesn't rely on Wi-Fi or the app. On mains-wired motors a power cut simply pauses operation until power returns; nothing gets stuck in the wrong position.
Can one app control every blind in the house?
Yes. Blinds can be grouped by room or by floor, so a single tap or voice command moves several at once, alongside individual control for each one.
Are motorised blinds noisy?
Ours are noticeably quiet compared with older or budget motors. You'll hear a faint hum up close, but it's not disruptive in a bedroom or living room even at night.
Do I need an electrician to have them fitted?
Battery motors need no wiring at all. Mains-wired motors need a nearby power source, and if one isn't already in place we'll arrange the electrical work as part of the fitting rather than leave you to sort it separately.
