Smart Day & Night Blinds
The light control of a day & night blind, moved by a quiet motor instead of a chain. Open, close, and switch between sheer and private from your phone, a remote, or a voice command — measured, made and fitted by our own team.

Two fabric rolls, moved by a motor instead of a chain
A day & night blind has two layers of fabric, each printed with alternating sheer and opaque stripes. Rotating one layer against the other lines the stripes up or offsets them, sliding the blind between soft light, part privacy, and a near-blackout. On the smart version, that rotation and the raise-and-lower movement both run off a small motor built into the headrail rather than a bead chain or wand.
The companion app opens and closes the blind, sets the sheer/opaque split, and saves your favourite positions as one-tap presets.
There's no chain or cord to catch on furniture, pets or children — the blind moves on command instead of a pull mechanism.
Set the blind to switch to privacy at dusk, open with your morning alarm, or drop straight to a "movie" setting with one tap.
Built for daily use, not just a demo
Six things that separate a properly specified smart day & night blind from a chain blind with a motor bolted on.
The motor rotates the fabric rolls as well as raising and lowering them, so you get the same sheer-to-opaque adjustment as a manual day & night blind, just driven by the app.
No looped chain means no strangulation risk to check for — a genuine advantage over corded blinds in bedrooms, nurseries and playrooms.
Rechargeable battery motors suit most rooms and recharge in minutes off a USB lead; hardwired motors are available where a blind runs constantly or sits somewhere awkward to reach.
Bluetooth handles day-to-day app and remote control on its own — no bridge, no account, no internet connection required to open or close the blind.
A single multi-channel remote can group several smart day & night blinds together, so a whole room or landing moves on one button press.
We measure, make, fit and pair the blind to your phone on installation day, so it's working before we leave — not a box left for you to set up.
Three ways to move the blind
Every smart day & night blind ships ready for all three. Use whichever suits the room, or mix them across the house.
1, 5 or 15-channel remotes let you drive single blinds or whole groups. Each channel holds an unlimited number of blinds, so a landing or bay window moves as one.
Bluetooth pairs a blind to the app in about a minute, no bridge or account needed. Set timers, save favourite positions, and control blinds individually or in scenes.
Add a Wi-Fi bridge and the blind joins Amazon Alexa or Google Home, so "open the living room blind" works alongside your other smart devices.
Bluetooth control runs entirely on the motor itself, with no cloud account and nothing stored off the device. A Wi-Fi bridge is only needed if you want voice control or control away from home, and it's an optional add-on, not a requirement.
Stripe tones to suit the room
The stripe pattern is the same across the range — what changes is the tone and how sharply the sheer and opaque bands contrast.
Soft off-white stripes, gentle contrast. Suits living rooms and south-facing windows that get plenty of sun.
A cooler neutral that reads well against darker frames and modern interiors.
A deeper opaque band for rooms wanting stronger privacy even in the "open" setting.
A muted blue-grey tone that suits bedrooms and studies, pairing well with darker headrails.
Matched to your frames, not just the blind
The motor sits inside the headrail, so the outside of the blind looks the same as a standard day & night blind. Choose a finish that matches your window frames or woodwork.
Rooms that get the most from smart control
Any room suits a day & night blind — these are where the motor and app genuinely earn their place.
Group two or three blinds on one remote channel so a whole bay opens or closes together, without three separate chains to reach.
Stairwells, over-sink windows and anything above a worktop are far easier to operate from an app than with a wand or pole.
No looped chain to keep out of reach, plus a scheduled "close for the night" setting that runs whether or not you remember to do it.
Switch between screen-glare-friendly and natural light with a tap, without leaving your desk mid-call.
Bluetooth control needs no bridge or account, which suits tenants or holiday lets where you don't want a shared smart home login.
Voice control or a single remote button removes the need to reach, pull or twist a wand, which matters in homes adapting for reduced mobility.
Smart Day & Night Blinds
The questions we're asked most often at survey.
Do smart day & night blinds need Wi-Fi to work?
No. The Bluetooth motor connects directly to your phone within range, with no bridge, router connection or account required. A Wi-Fi bridge is only needed if you want to control the blind from outside the house or link it to Alexa or Google Home.
How is the blind powered?
Most homes use a rechargeable battery motor, charged via USB every few months depending on use. A hardwired mains motor is available where a blind runs several times a day or sits somewhere the battery would be awkward to reach.
Can one remote control more than one blind?
Yes. Multi-channel remotes group any number of blinds on a single channel, so a bay window or a whole room of blinds moves together on one button.
Is it safe for a house with children?
There's no looped chain or cord on the outside of the blind, so the strangulation risk that comes with a corded pull mechanism doesn't apply here. The blind is moved entirely by the motor, remote or app.
What happens if my phone or the app isn't working?
Every smart blind we fit still works with its handheld remote, so you're never reliant on a single method of control. The remote and app both talk to the same motor independently.
Does it still do the sheer-to-opaque adjustment, or just up and down?
It does both. The motor rotates the fabric layers to shift between sheer, part-open and opaque, as well as raising and lowering the blind fully — the same range of movement as a manual day & night blind.
Is my data private?
Bluetooth control runs locally between your phone and the motor, with nothing sent to the cloud. Adding a Wi-Fi bridge for voice control introduces a manufacturer account, which we can talk you through at survey.
Can I switch a smart blind back to manual later?
The motor and headrail are part of the fitted unit, so it isn't a simple swap. If you're unsure whether you want motorised control, we'd recommend discussing it at your free survey before ordering.
