How it works

A frame fixing, without touching the frame

Fit to Frame uses small interlocking brackets that clip onto the glazing bead, the strip of plastic that holds your window's glass in place, rather than into the uPVC frame itself. The headrail sits in those brackets and stays put. There's nothing screwed into the part of the window that's covered by your manufacturer's warranty.

The aluminium venetian itself works exactly as you'd expect: tilt the wand to angle the slats for light and privacy, raise or lower the headrail-mounted blind on its cord. It's the fixing method that's different, not the blind.

Clips, not screws

Brackets lock onto the bead by hand or with a light tap. No drill, no dust, no screw holes left behind.

Reversible

Take it down when you move, redecorate, or sell up, and the bead looks exactly as it did before fitting.

Fixed headrail, no sag

The headrail is rigid once clipped in, so there's no drooping cord ladder or wonky slats over time.

What makes it different

Built for windows you can't, or won't, drill into

Six things that set Fit to Frame apart from a standard drilled venetian.

Fixes to the bead, not the frame

Brackets clip onto the glazing bead instead of being screwed into the window frame, so the structure that keeps your double glazing watertight stays untouched.

Opens with the window

Sitting within the rebate rather than across the frame means a tilt and turn window can still open and close without the blind getting in the way.

Rigid, fixed headrail

The headrail clips firmly into the brackets and doesn't move once fitted, keeping slats level even on wider doors and bifolds.

25mm aluminium slats

Slim slats give the same tilt and light control as a full-size venetian, scaled to suit smaller panes and door glazing.

Comes off without damage

Useful for rented properties or anywhere you'll eventually want the window back to its bare, unmarked state.

Brackets matched to your frame

White, grey, anthracite, nobel silver or black brackets so the fixing disappears into the window rather than standing out against it.

Drilled vs. Fit to Frame

What actually changes at the window

A standard venetian bracket goes through the frame. Fit to Frame stops at the bead. Here's the difference, side by side.

Standard drilled bracket

Screwed into the frame

A bracket is drilled and screwed straight through the uPVC or timber frame. Quick to do, but it leaves permanent holes and can affect a frame's weatherproof warranty.

Fit to Frame bracket

Clipped onto the bead

An interlocking bracket clips onto the glazing bead, the removable strip holding the glass in place. No drilling, no screws, no marks left in the frame when it comes off.

Fit to Frame needs an internally beaded frame with enough bead depth for the bracket to grip, which most modern uPVC tilt and turn windows and aluminium bifold doors have. Externally beaded frames, very shallow beads, or older timber windows usually need a different fixing method, which we'll flag at your survey rather than after we've cut anything.

Where it works best

Six places Fit to Frame earns its keep

Most of these come down to one thing: not wanting holes in the frame.

01

uPVC tilt & turn windows

The most common fit. The bracket clips inside the bead while the window still tilts and opens normally.

02

Bifold & French doors

No-drill fixing across multiple panes means matching brackets and a clean run of slats door to door.

03

Rented & managed properties

Take it with you, or leave it, but either way the landlord gets the frame back exactly as it was.

04

New-build aluminium frames

Avoids putting the first holes into a brand-new frame that's still under manufacturer's warranty.

05

Listed buildings & conservation areas

Where altering the original frame isn't permitted, a clip-on bracket often is. Worth checking with your conservation officer first.

06

Kitchens & bathrooms

Aluminium slats handle steam and condensation better than fabric, and won't warp the way timber slats can.

What customers say

Real reviews, real windows

★★★★★

We rent, so drilling into the frames was never an option. The fitter clipped the brackets onto the bead in about twenty minutes per window and you genuinely can't tell they're there until the blind's down.

Got these for the bifold doors in the kitchen extension. They still open and close fine with the blinds fitted, which the other quote we got couldn't promise.

Anthracite brackets on anthracite frames and honestly you have to go right up close to spot them. The headrail feels solid too, no wobble when you tilt the slats.

FAQs

Fit to Frame, answered

Honest answers about whether it'll work on your windows.

What's the difference between Fit to Frame and Perfect Fit?

Both are no-drill systems, but they clip on differently. Fit to Frame uses individual interlocking brackets fixed to the glazing bead. Perfect Fit uses a slim frame that clips around the whole bead with sprung side clips. Fit to Frame tends to suit bifolds and door glazing where a full surrounding frame would be bulkier than needed.

Will fitting damage my window frame?

No. The brackets clip onto the glazing bead, not the frame, so there's no drilling and no screws into the uPVC or aluminium itself. Take the blind down later and the bead looks the same as before.

Will it work on my windows?

It needs an internally beaded frame with enough bead depth to grip the bracket, which covers most modern uPVC tilt and turn windows and aluminium frames. Externally beaded frames or very shallow beads sometimes can't take it, and we'll check this for free at your survey before you commit to anything.

Can I still open my tilt and turn window?

Yes. The blind sits within the rebate rather than across the opening part of the window, so tilting and turning works as normal once it's fitted.

Can I take it down without leaving marks?

Yes, that's the main reason people choose it. Unclip the brackets from the bead and there's nothing left to fill or repaint, which matters for rented or leased properties.

What colours are the slats and brackets available in?

Slats come in gloss white, brushed silver, anthracite grey and matt black. Brackets are colour-matched and also available in white, grey, anthracite, nobel silver and black, so they can match either the slat or the window frame.

How do I clean an aluminium venetian blind?

Wipe slats with a dry or barely damp cloth, or use the brush attachment on a vacuum for a quick once-over. Aluminium doesn't warp or mark the way timber slats can, so it tolerates a bit of moisture without issue.

How long does fitting take?

Usually 15 to 25 minutes per window once the blind's been made, since there's no drilling to do. Larger door sets with multiple panes take a bit longer.
